I love Memphis, I really do. I love a lot of things about Memphis. I love that people are striving to close the gap between the rich and the poor. I love that white teachers are able to work with black teachers in Memphis. I love that my students are receiving the education that they deserve. I love that I can wake up on a Saturday morning and know that at least 2-3 farmers markets are going on. I love all the quirky restaurants and the excellent food I always get to have.
I just miss California. It is not necessarily the location, it is the people. I miss Californians. Yes, a lot of them are snotty to the outside, but if that is what you are use to, then it seems normal. I miss being around people who are similar to me.
I know we are suppose to live a rather uncomfortable life, or so it seems, but I am just so excited for the month of June. California, I am going to fully embrace you.

The Hardest Year of my Life
The hardest year of my life is almost over! I seriously cannot believe it. In 21 days I will be a graduate! Holy crap... I will have my Masters in Urban Education.
This year has been the hardest and sweetest year of my life for the following reasons:
- Balancing masters course work along with teaching
- Learning how to be a teacher with constant feedback
- Cultural adjusting to Memphis
- Finding a new church
- Building new friendships
- Being apart of an organization that is still very new... but still very sweet
- BEST PART: loving my students... I LOVE THEM.
I am going to be a disaster come May 17th. I don't know how I am going to say good bye to them. It is so hard knowing I will probably not see them again since I will be teaching Monday through Friday next year... so there is no chance to go see them! Man, I love my babies.
Please pray that I get things done the next few weeks. Thesis is due next week, poster presentation the following week. I am teaching everything until school gets out.
I love y'all.

Bringing it Back
I miss this blog so much. It reminds me so much of high school and college. Tumblr seemed cool, but it definitely did not impress me haha. I am back on here! Woohooo!
